Unveiling Ceremony and the First Joint Management Committee Meeting of the SDU-ANU Joint Science College were Successfully Held

At the invitation of AEMG Group and partner university in China, a delegation of 10 under the leadership of Professor Mike Calford (Provost of the Australian National University) and Professor Kiaran Kirk (Dean, College of Science) visited Shandong University, Weihai from November 29 to December 1, 2019, accompanied by AEMG Group’s Mr. Roger Li (President), and Ms. Jenny Wang (Director General) along with staff from relative departments. They were warmly welcomed by Professor Fan liming (President of Shandong University), Professor Liu Jianya (Vice President of Shandong University and President of Shandong University, Weihai) as well as representatives from relative departments. During the visit, the Unveiling Ceremony and the first joint management committee of the SDU-ANU Joint Science College were successfully held.

In the morning of November 30, the Unveiling Ceremony of SDU-ANU Joint Science College was held in Weihai campus. Professor Liu Jianya (President of Shandong University, Weihai), presided over the meeting. Fan liming, Zhang Haibo (Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Weihai City), Mike Calford and Roger Li along with the other guests were invited to attend the conference and delivered speeches. Ms. Brooke Hartigan (Minister Counsellor of Australian Embassy in China) sent a congratulatory video to the launch of the Joint Science College. President Roger Li reviewed the work carried out hand in hand with partner university in China and Australia to facilitate the successful establishment of the Joint Science College. Facing a large number of students, Mr. Li expressed his expectation that each student would not only actively engaged in the development and construction of the Sino-Australian joint education project, but also could take the initiative to spread positivity for the exchange of culture and education between China and Australia. At the end of the ceremony, all invited guests unveiled the plague and officially inaugurated the SDU-ANU Joint Science College.

In the afternoon of November 30, Shandong University, Weihai, Australian National University and AEMG Group held the first joint management committee. The three parties reached consensus on making joint efforts to cultivate talents and shown full confidence in the smooth operation of the Joint Science College. The talks strengthened mutual understanding among the three parties, further consolidated the cooperation between the Group and Chinese and Australian Partner Universities, and laid a solid foundation for broadening cooperation fields.
