University of Technology Sydney (UTS) visit AEMG partner universities in China – June, 2019

On 28th June, 2019, Mr. Roger Li, President AEMG accompanied Mr. Ian Watt, Deputy Vice Chancellor (International) UTS, to Northeastern University at Qinhuangdao. They were welcomed by Prof. Jianchang LIU, President, Prof. Xiaoqi LI, Vice President and key College representatives. During the meeting, the three parties participated in detailed consultation regarding the long-term sustainable cooperation in new education areas, and reached a broad consensus. While on campus, the delegation also spent time meeting the students, and were able to provide detailed responses to answer any questions or concerns.

In the afternoon of 29th June, Mr Watt and Mr Li visited Ocean University of China (OUC) where they were welcomed by Prof. Zhigang YU, President and other OUC colleagues. During the meeting, the three parties conducted extensive discussions on potential collaborative research programs and reached a broad consensus.

Mr Watt and Mr Li were received by Prof. Ji ZHAO, President, Prof. Jianchang LIU, VP and other key staff of Northeastern University on the morning of 1 July. Extensive discussion took place relating to potential collaborative opportunities both in educational programs and research projects, with an initial agreement reached. During this visit the delegation toured the Museum of Northeast University and gained a deeper understanding of its development and achievements in the last 96 years.

Through this visit, the cooperation among our partners has been consolidated and practical cooperation in the areas of educational programs and research cooperation were pushed to a new level.
