University of Auckland Delegation visits AEMG and Universities in China

With the invitation from AEMG and partner universities in China, the delegation of University of Auckland (UoA) led by Prof. John Hosking (Dean of Faculty of Science), visited China during 9th April to 13th April.

On 9th April, President of AEMG, Mr. Roger LI and General Director of AEMG, Ms. Jenny WANG accompanied the delegation to visit Northeast Forestry University. Prof. LI Bin, President of NEFU, and Prof. LI Shunlong, Vice President of NEFU, warmly welcomed the delegation. During the meeting, the two parties had a detailed consultation on the cooperation and solid the foundation of the further research collaboration. Subsequently, the delegation visited the relevant cooperative college and held a cordial discussion with the students.

On 10th April, the delegation made an official visit to Australia Education Management Group office in Beijing. The delegation was warmly welcomed by President of AEMG Mr. Roger LI,Director General Ms. Jenny WANG and Project Director General of AEMG Mr. LV Yuqi. They accompanied the delegation to visit AEMG’s Beijing office and had a meeting. During the meeting, the two parties had a detailed discussion on the cooperation. Prof. John Hosking gave a highly appreciated to the efforts AEMG had made for UoA and full of confidence for future cooperation.

On 12th April, the delegation was accompanied by Deputy Director Ms. Cecile LIU, Global Engagement and Partnership Department. Deputy director of the National Astronomical Observatory, deputy director of the School of Astronomy and Space Science, Prof. ZHAO Gang warmly welcomed the delegation and held the meeting. During the meeting, the two parties had a detailed discussion on potential cooperation projects and reached consensus. Subsequently, the delegation visited The National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences research laboratory.

On 13th April, Mr. Roger LI accompanied the delegation to visit Southwest University. Under the leadership Prof. JIN Yule, Vice President of SWU warmly welcomed the delegation. During the meeting, the two parties had a detailed consultation on the cooperation and reached a broad consensus. After the meeting, the delegation made a meeting with the students who are in the project and brought a wonderful keynote speech to the students.

The mutual understanding and trust has been deepened between AEMG and the partner universities along with the visits, and the areas of cooperation have been broadened as well.
