Ulster University and Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (SUST) unveil Ulster College at SUST, May 11, 2019

A delegation from Ulster University visited Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (SUST) for the formal announcement of Ulster College at SUST.  Mr. John Hunter, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, led the delegation and was warmly received by Professor Yao Shuzhi, Secretary of SUST and Mr Lv Yuqi, Vice-President AEMG.   The parties held high level talks in the morning.  Professor Wang Haiyan, Vice President SUST outlined the plans for construction of Ulster College and the delegation visited the current teaching building for the College.

In the afternoon, the delegation participated in “2019 Silk Road Education Cooperation Expo” hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Education Department and some universities in Shaanxi Province. At the Expo, Mr. Fang Guanghua, Deputy Governor of Shaanxi Province unveiled a plaque for “Ulster College at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology”.  The unveiling ceremony was attended by Mr. John Hunter, Prof. Ma Jianzhong, President SUST, Prof. Wang Haiyan, Mr Lv Yuqi, Professor Liam Maguire, Executive Dean, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Build Environment of the University of Ulster,  Mr. Xu Xingye, Regional Director of AEMG, and Ms. Dong Wenting, Senior Manager of Xi’an Region, and other staff.

Prof. Ma Jianzhong noted that the opening of Ulster College strengthened the ties between SUST and Ulster University, and together with AEMG that the future cooperation and opportunities between the parties was encouraging.
