On 8th and 9th April, Prof. Alan Lau, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research Performance and Development) of Swinburne University of Technology with his delegation, was invited to visit Weihai and Jinan Campus of Shandong University. Jacko FENG, Research Project Manager of AEMG Global Partnership Engagement accompanied the delegation.
Prof. Li WANG, Vice-Dean of School of Mechanical, Electrical & Information Engineering, SDUW and Prof. Chunsheng GUO had a meeting with guests from SUT, accompanied by related personnel from International Cooperation and Communication Office. During the meeting, both parties exchanged ideas in depth about the Joint Research Centre for Advanced Manufacturing. SDUW, SUT and AEMG fully affirmed the importance of the center and express desire and expectation on long-term cooperation on higher level and broader range.
After the meeting, Prof. Pankaj Arora met with postgraduate students majoring in Space Science and Physics and gave the students a lecture.
On 8th April afternoon, accompanied by Prof. GUO, Prof. Geoff met up with PhD students and asked about their research project and process and helped with some problems they found out in their projects.
On 9th April, Professor Jianya LIU, Vice-President of Shandong University and President of Weihai Campus, met with the delegation and affirmed the tripartite cooperation between the Advanced Manufacturing Center and the Joint Doctoral Program. In the morning, the delegation visited the engineering training center located in Xinglongshan Campus and held a symposium with the relevant leaders and professional teachers from the School of Control Science and Engineering. The delegation made a thorough discussion and reached a consensus on promoting scientific research cooperation.
The mutual understanding and trust have been deepened between AEMG and the partner universities along with the visits, and the areas of cooperation have been broadened as well.
