At the invitation of the Australia Education Management Group, the delegation of James Cook University visited China from 9th to 11th, May, under the leadership of Prof. Sandra Harding, VC of the University, Prof. Ian Gordon, DVC, Division of Tropical Environments and Societies and Mrs. Melissa Banks, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International). The delegation was accompanied by AEMG to visit cooperative universities in China.
On the 9th of May, Mr. Roger LI, President of AEMG, accompanied the delegation to visit Ocean University of China. They were warmly welcomed by the President, Prof. YU Zhigang, Dean of College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences, and Directors of relevant departments. During the following meeting, the three parties had a discussion in details on the potential collaborative research opportunities and reached a broad consensus. After meeting, the delegation visited laboratory.
On the 10th of May, Roger accompanied the delegation to visit Xi’an University of Technology. They were warmly welcomed and met by the Party Secretary of the university, Prof. LIU De’an, the Vice President of foreign affairs and postgraduate education and Directors of relevant department. During the meeting, the three parties had a detailed consultation on the challenges and solutions about the current cooperation and reached a broad consensus. After the meeting, the delegation visited Engineering Training Center of XAUT.
The visit further enhanced the communication between AEMG and its partner universities, and ensured a smooth and efficient operation of joint education programs.
