From April 9th to 11th 2019, invited by partner universities in China, a delegation of 5 members from James Cook University in Australia under the leadership of Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Ian Wronski paid a visit to Southwest University and Xi’an University of Technology. Ms. Jenny WANG, Director General of Australia Education Management Group (AEMG), and other relevant staff accompanied the visit.
From April 9th to 10th, the delegation visited Southwest University, the leaders of the two universities and AEMG held a few meetings. SWU President Weiguo ZHANG delivered a speech and extended a warm welcome to the delegation of James Cook University. The two sides introduced the relevant information, advantageous disciplines, scientific research projects, future development concepts and plans of their respective schools and majors in detail. Ms. Jenny WANG introduced the basic structure, management and operation mechanism of relevant graduate school and research centers. The three parties expressed full consensus and confidence in further cooperation.
On April 11th, the delegation visited Xi’an University of Technology. Prof. Yunhe LIU, Vice President of Xi’an University of Technology welcomed the visiting delegation on behalf of the university. And then the representatives of the two universities and AEMG had a detailed consultation on the cooperation and reached a broad consensus in a few aspects. After the meeting, JCU delegation also held a student meeting to interact with students from various schools of Xi’an University of Technology.
The fruitful results of this visit have further consolidated the academic cooperation between the foreign university and Chinese universities and promoted comprehensive relationship between AEMG and partner Universities. AEMG will continue to play an important role in promoting Sino Australian cooperation in running schools and academic exchanges.
