On 22 April, 2016, with the invitation from AEMG and China University of Mining and technology, delegation of University of Western Australia led by Pro-Vice Chancellor Mr. Iain Watt, accompanied by CEO of AEMG Mr. Roger Li, visited China University of Mining and Technology.
President of CUMT Mr. GE Shirong welcomed the delegation and hosted the meeting afterwards. He introduced the preponderant majors on campus and CUMT’s international ranks. He also extended his expectations towards future development and construction, as well as his expectations to strengthen the communication and cooperation with UWA in the field of disciplines construction. Pro-Vice Chancellor of UWA Mr. Iain Watt was willing to work with CUMT in discussing and promoting further cooperation across various fields. Then, two universities signed the agreement of joint PhD program, witnessed by AEMG.
In the afternoon, Mr. Iain Watt and CUMT postgraduates had an academic communication and Mr. Watt introduced UWA to all the students present.
The visit and agreement promoted the mutual understanding among CUMT, UWA and AEMG, realized communications among all parties and advanced the process of Sino-Australian education collaboration.
