At the invitation of the group’s partner in China, Professor Peter Frappell, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development of AEMG, led a group of six representatives from the University of Tasmania (UTas) and University of Western Australia (UWA) to visit Xi ‘an Conservatory of Music (XACM) from 17th to 19th October 2019.
At the morning of October 18th, the delegations attended XACM’s 70th anniversary celebration. In the afternoon, XACM’s Party Secretary, Professor Zhang Lijie, and President, Professor Wang Zhen, and AEMG’s Vice President Peter Frappell attended the unveiling ceremony of the Sino-Australia Research and Development Center.
After the celebration, Professor Li Baojie, Vice President of XACM, held a meeting with all representatives who participated in the occasion. The parties planned for the future cooperation and also reviewed on recent cooperation. In recent years, through the efforts of AEMG, XACM has strengthened cooperation and exchanges with Australian universities and held a number of academic exchanges and teaching performances.
Dr. Jonathan Fitzgerald from UWA Conservatorium of Music and Ms. Arabella Teniswood from UTas Conservatorium of Music had a meet-and-greet session with XACM’s students. Both universities welcome students from XACM to study and exchange at UTas and UWA through various forms of cooperation and hope that the students will be ambassadors in inheriting and promoting Chinese and Australian cultures.
Through this visit, the cooperative universities of AEMG had further deepened communication and exchanges, enhanced understanding, and laid a solid foundation for the implementation and development of the cooperation projects.
