A Visit by the Delegation of UTAS to the Xi’an Conservatory of Music

On 14th of September 2018, the delegation of UTAS Conservatorium of Music led by Mr. Robert Atkinson, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Global), visited the Xi’an Conservatory of Music (XACM) with accompany of Australia Education Management Group (AEMG) and held a conference to discuss the future cooperation among three parties.

Participants of the conference exchanged their opinions and stated their prospects of establishing articulation programs. Prof. ZHANG Lijie, Party Secretary of XACM, and Mr. Atkinson believed both universities should sustain an efficient cooperation with AEMG to organize a Chinese traditional music delegation visit next year and further collaboration. Prof. ZHANG and Mr. Atkinson exchanged gifts at the end of the conference. They both agreed that the oncoming cooperation would accelerate the progress of internationalization for both universities.

After the conference, famous vocalist Maria Lurighi and pianist Andrew Legg offered a high standard performance and they also held a masterclass to provide professional advice to XACM students.

Mutual understanding and trust have been deepened between AEMG and the partner universities along with the visits, and the areas of cooperation have been broadened as well.
