In the early autumn of August, Xuzhou, sky is blue with gentle breezing blowing. The Campus of China University of Mining and Technology, which just celebrated its 110th anniversary, welcomed 2019 Australian Education Management Group (AEMG) Staff Conference. During the two-day conference, more than 200 members of staff including senior leadership, employees and teachers from China and Australia came here to gather together, summarizing and exchanging work experience of the past academic year, and listening to leader’s report and plan for the coming new start, which also lies a foundation for the Group’s transformation and development.
On the morning of the 20th, Director General, Ms. Jenny WANG gave an opening speech. She pointed out that after years of hard work, the Group has entered a new stage of development, which is transforming from the original single-business company to a globalized structure system, whose remarkable achievements covers Sino-foreign joint education, cloud campus, joint scientific research centers, publishing, Chinese traditional medicine research, to name a few. An international education management group as AEMG now it is, all staff must have the consciousness of “changing” and the feelings of “unchanging”, based on the past and the future, to think in a positive way about how to adapt to the development of the world, the changes in educational concepts and working methods in new era, constantly striving to improve our own qualifications, and at the same time grasping the “unchanged” in the change with a strong belief in AEMG culture, which is spreading love and hope, being AEMG persons, and making extraordinary brands.
President Roger LI conducted the annual work summary and planning report. He pointed out that AEMG has become the backbone of the education and cultural exchange between China and Australia, providing high-quality services and products to the universities of the two countries. In the face of future opportunities and challenges, AEMG will continue to deepen project cooperation, improve project quality, build a database with cloud platform technology, expand the publishing field, and to step up efforts in jointly training talents, establishing joint research center etc. making AEMG an excellent international education provider.
Next, each division separately reported and introduced the work plan and ideas for the new academic year. The work report of the Chancellor Office was analyzed from the perspective of the internationalization of higher education, the core tasks of the Group’s operation and development, and the multidimensional strategy. It was proposed that the work of the Chancellor Office should be seen in a longer term, stand from a higher vision, think from a deeper perspectives and undertake in a more strict way. At the same time, the heads of each centers within the Chancellor Office conducted work introduction and report one by one.
In the Division of Global Engagement & Marketing Development, each department is closely linked with others. Therefore, it is key to rationally adjust the department structure, strengthen personnel communication and cooperation, realize resource-sharing, and improve work efficiency. The directors from Global Engagement and Marketing & Admission gave reports on their departmental structure and business with a blueprint of future.
On the afternoon of the 20th , the academic division reported with major points including further putting forward the importance of English teaching, while emphasizing that diversified business and perfect management system will lay the foundation for the Group’s development. The directors of Academic Affairs summarized the quality of teaching, teaching evaluation, teaching visits, and the use of cloud campus. Staff representatives who participated in leadership training programmes went to the stage to share. The directors of the Human Resources, Finance and IT technical departments from the Division of Operation introduced the business statues, personnel composition and new school year goals respectively.
On the 21st, branch managers from all regions of the country reported on the current operation of each branch and the work plan of the school year in turn, followed by team members briefly introduced themselves on the stage. Teachers and new employee representatives who participated in overseas training and Weihai training made a summary report.
The two-day staff conference was full of content and inspiration, which not only clarified the development direction of the Group, but also enhanced the cohesiveness of the Group members. Every AEMG person will be more energetic and self-motivated as the messenger and bridge of Sino-foreign educational and cultural exchanges with ideals and beliefs!
