2018 PD Program Pre-departure Seminar for CAP Teachers was Held Successfully

From 9th to 10th June, 2018, AEMG Academy organized a seminar for teachers who will join in this year’s AEMG Professional Development Program at Southwest University. The purpose of this meeting is to help PD teachers to learn more about our training programs, to achieve better learning results during their studying abroad, to promote the development of the Cooperative Articulation Program after their coming back. Teachers who are going to study overseas from different universities attended the meeting.

The seminar was hosted by Prof. Bruce Calway. First he stated the significance of overseas training project on CAP and then organized the teachers to discuss on the topic “How to make overseas training program a great facilitation for CAP”. In the morning of June 9th, Ms. Joyce Xu, the Executive Director of AEMG Teaching Department, and Ms. Julia Chen, the Director of AEMG Academic Department, introduced the PD program basic information, the requirements of the participants, and the achievements made by previous PD teachers. In the afternoon of 9th, Prof. Zili Zhang, the Dean of SWU WESTA College made a wonderful speech to all teachers regarding how to really do co-teaching between Chinese and foreign teachers. After that, the winners of 2017 Excellent PD Teachers were also announced. Dr. Bo Liu, the previous prize winner of Excellent PD Teacher, was invited to share his training experience in Australia, which provided very valuable experience for all PD teachers.

In the morning of June 10th, Prof. Bruce Calway organized a training session regarding the AEMG Cloud Campus for the PD teachers, in terms of “The importance of using Cloud Campus in the process of teaching visit” and “How to use Cloud Campus better between the co-teachers in the process of teaching visit”. The teachers were actively engaged in the session and benefited a lot. The meeting ended successfully at that time.

Through this meeting, the PD participants not only knew better about the Professional Development Program, but also knew about the relevant requirements, which gave them a clear idea of what their following tasks and responsibilities.
