2018 Cohort Sino-Australian Articulation Programs Joint Opening Ceremony is Successfully Completed

On the morning of September 9, 2018, the Joint Opening Ceremony of Sino-Australian Cooperative Articulation Program for 2018 Cohort Students and Parents was held in the library Lecture Hall of Jinan Campus, Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST). Ms. YANG Peng, Manager of the Sino-Australian Cooperative Articulation Program from International Affairs Office, SDUST, Professor Dean Steer from University of Tasmania (UTAS), the UTAS representative Candy HAN, Manager WANG Fei and all the teachers of AEMG SDUST Branch attended the conference.

Firstly, Ms. YANG Peng expressed warm welcome to all the students, their parents and UTAS representatives. She also briefly introduced the schedule of the conference.

Secondly, the UTAS representative Candy HAN gave a perfect introduction of Tasmania and UTAS from the aspects of environment, climate, cultural customs, safety, job opportunity, etc.

Then Professor Dean Steer, based on his own yearly teaching experience, pointed out the great opportunity of internationalized education the students are facing. Besides that, he also elaborated the School of Engineering Technology of UTAS in details and stressed the promising development as an engineer.

At last, the AEAP system and the DEP course were introduced by SDUST Branch teacher Ms.YU Feifei, after which students and their parents asked questions and got satisfactory answers.

This is the first time for SDUST to invite parents to take part in the Joint Open Ceremony and communicate with teachers and students. It has deepened students and their parents’ understanding to the program and played an important role in promoting the program development.
